10 Explanatory Facts about our Natural Environment, also called, ‘Habitat’

  1. The Environment is all the Natural Materials and Living things, including Sunlight, that surrounds as every day. In this environment we call things of value, Natural Resources. These resources are devided in two categories; Renewable Resources and Non- renewable Resources.
  2. Renewable Resources like sunlight, forests, vegetation and fish are a few of these resources, because they come back naturally when used.
  3. Non-Renewable Resources are important things in the environment that are limited and can be depleted, for example, fossils, fuels, coal, ores, etc.
  4. Lightning is a resource that can kill and cause major damage, but still a natural thing in our environment.
  5. The totality of all resources is defined as our Planetary Inheritance, and all included is our Environment.
  6. To survive in this Environment all these resources are in need of the other and therefore an inter-relationship between them exist.
  7. Everything around us, air, water trees, rivers, oceans, forests, plants, animals etc. is inclusive of our Environment.
  8. These surroundings, Environment, can be influenced by natural changes. For example, Change in climate, and natural disasters which include, Earthquake, Typhoon, and Flooding.
  9. Humans’ are causing damage to the environment on a very large scale; including Greenhouse gasses caused by human activities. Global warming is worsened daily by the extensive use of cars, releasing gasses, Pesticides, being used for Agriculture and killing insects, naming only a few.
  10. Our Atmosphere, that is our air, is a chaotic system, and even the smallest of changes can affect it largely. Even human activities such as Agriculture and industries have inadvertently modified weather patterns.

All living things and all non-living things are encompassed in the natural Environment.  They interact with each other and need each other.  There are many things we can do to help our Environment and even make it better. Simple small things, like, driving less, recycling of reusable
